The Ideal Card is a subscriber identity module, or SIM card, that comes with a NT$300 initial airtime credit. The card expires 180 days from the time it is activated ( dial a non-toll-free number the first time even though it is not charged ) .

Initial setup

1. Install the SIM card ( big or little ,depending on your mobile phone model ) on your mobile handset. Please consult your handset manual for details.
2. Turn the handset on.
3. Enter your personal identification number, or PIN
   • The 1st time you use the card, enter the preset PIN 0000#
   • In order to prevent unauthorized access to your card, please consult your handset manual to change the preset PIN to a number of 4- to 8-digit in length known only to you.

You must enter the PIN each time you switch on your handset after the initial setup. Three consecutive incorrect PIN entries will block the Ideal Card. To unblock, please refer to the user's manual of your handset as well as the PUK code on the back cover of this brochure. If incorrect procedure is used to unblock the card, the card will be disabled permanently after the 10th attempt, in which you must contact our business offices for a replacement card, for which a fee is required.

How to make a call
After the initial setup mentioned above the Ideal Card is available for outgoing domestic & international and free incoming calls within the expiration period.

• Calling domestic fixed-line phones: area code + phone number + call button
• Calling other mobile phones: mobile phone number + call button
• Making international calls: 009 or 019 + country code + area code + phone number + call button

The Ideal Recharge Voucher (not including the complimentary recharge voucher ) comes with a fixed value and an identification code. The card is valid for a period of 180 days, which is extended each time the card is used to credit your Ideal Card with additional deposit. As long as you continue to credit your Idea Card using a valid Idea Recharge Voucher you will be able to continue using the number assigned to your Ideal Card.

How to recharge your Ideal Card

• Scratch the silver strip on the Recharge Voucher to reveal the 12-digit voucher number of the card,
• Dial 927 from your handset, or 0928-000-927 from another phone, and follow the voice instructions to recharge your Ideal Card,
• The expiration date of the Ideal number is recalculated.
• Your Ideal Card can be recharged with more than one valid Ideal Recharge Voucher at the same time. The airtime credit will be added while the expiry of your Ideal Card is 180 days since the date the last piece of Recharge Voucher is recharged.

Card balance and expiration related card services

• Dial 927 from your handset, or 0928-000-927 from another phone, and follow the voice instructions to recharge your Ideal Card,
• If your Ideal Card balance is less than NT$60, or the expiration date is less than 15 days, you will receive a warning promt every time a non-toll free outgoing call is made (the call will not be disrupted.)
• If the remaining airtime of your Ideal Card remains only 20 seconds during an outgoing call, you will hear a series warning beeps so that steps can be taken to end the call gracefully.
• To check your balance and expiry date, you can also dial 927 on your handset.
• Outgoing calls cannot be made when your Ideal balance reaches zero; incoming calls can still be received as long as your Ideal Card is within the expiry date.
• At the end of each outgoing call, you will receive a Last Call Info showing called number , duration, cost and balance on your handset display. ( But there is no Last Call Info for SMS sending and SMS-related services .)

A note about our voice service hotlines

• All calls to 927 and 0928000927 from CHT mobile number are toll-free.
• When calling 0928-000-928 from another telephone, a password is required. The initial preset password is 0000. To change the password, call 928 or 0928-000-928 and follow the voice instructions.

520 Mobile Matchmaking Service
The "520 Mobile Matchmaking Service" uses IVR (Interactive Voice Response) to let you enter a chat room and chat with people after dialing 520, pressing the transmit button, and listening to a voice menu. Alternately, you can enter your personal information and leave a creative personal salutation to become a member of the "520 Mobile Matchmaking Service." After becoming a member, you can enter your personal preferences and the system will automatically find your best match.
